Jim Alley

Jim Alley, 58, died June 22 at home under the care of Hospice Savannah.

The Memphis, Tenn. native lived in Texas and Michigan before relocating to Savannah 16 years ago. He was a professor of graphic design at the Savannah College of Art and Design, a contributing editor at Print magazine and technical editor of several books. He was a member of the Coastal Jazz Association and a founding member of the Savannah Macintosh Users Group. He was a board member and the newsletter editor of both organizations.

SURVIVORS: his wife, Mary L. Alley of Savannah; a daughter, Leslie A. Kidwell of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; two grandchildren, Ian James Kidwell and Rachel Elaine Kidwell; and his mother, Myrtie S. Alley of Savannah.
