I'm a 35 year old jazz-musician-turned-high-school-music-teacher (just like Mr Holland). I play (in order of competence...) drums, guitar, bass, keyboards (you have to be versatile in my job). And I sing. I have three children {Miles (10), Josh (8), Bessie (6)} and live in Nuclear Free New Zealand...
I'm from a family of jazz musicians and this is my first love, but find myself playing musical shows more than anything else now. My role is usually Drummer/Assistant Musical Director and I've directed the odd one (esp. school productions).
My first introduction to Miles Davis's music was the 1958 album 'Milestones' and remains one of my favourites today, almost twenty years later.
