Eric Siegel
I was born in Brooklyn in 1956. I began playing drums at 5 or 6 years old, and continued as an active drummer, borderline professional, into my mid thirties. I started on guitar and bass as a teenager, taught for a number of years. Since college (University of Michigan, Ann Arbor), I have studied the piano, trying to figure out what all these great jazz players were doing. After several years of school and music around the country, I returned to NYC in 1981. Since then, I have continued my piano studies (mostly on my own, though I studied for a year or two with Garry Dial). In the late 80's I had a spate as a commercial composer, working pretty regularly with CBS Sports doing opening sequences, PSA's (I was particularly proud of my anti-drug spots...) That part of my career ended with my marriage and the birth of my twin girls in 1992. I work in museums as an administrator of one sort or another. |
