BYG Actuel SeriesThe BYG label was founded by Jacques Bisceglia, Jean-Luc Young, and Jean Georgakarakos (hence the name); the Actuel series was mainly produced by drummer Claude Delcloo. Many of these records have now been reissued on 180-gram vinyl on the Italian Get Back label, and a nice three-CD compilation, Jazzactuel: A Collection of Avant Garde/Free Jazz/Psychedelia from the BYG/Actuel Catalogue of 1969-1971, has been issued on the Charly label (Charly SNAJ 707 CD). That set contains a nice booklet with session information. |
