Some discographies put some of this music on March 11. According to the notes to Mosaic MQ11-164, "the engineer's logs list two sessions: March 10, 1960, 2:30 pm-5:30 pm and March 11, 1960, 7 pm-11 pm. The recording sheets offer both days too, but indicate a double session on March 10 running well into the night. The actual tape for March 11 has less than 20 minutes of music, but, incongruously, the session is halted as if it's in overtime... The music on the tape for March 11 has "Saeta" and an attempt at an insert of 8 bars in "Concierto de Aranjuez."

The Davis Quintet remained in the east in January 1960, playing at the Apollo Theatre, New York (January 15-21) and the Showboat, Philadelphia (January 25-30). Later, however, on a short trip west, they were augmented by Buddy Montgomery (vb): Sutherland Hotel Lounge, Chicago (February 11-21); Shrine Auditorium, Los Angeles (Saturday, February 27); Civic Auditorium, San Jose CA (Thursday, March 3); Civic Auditorium, San Francisco (Friday, March 4); Auditorium Arena, Oakland (Saturday, March 5). It was apparently on this tour that Coltrane began playing the soprano saxophone.
