The Davis Sextet made a tour of the western U.S. in April-May 1970. They played the
Fillmore West on April 9-12 (opening for the Grateful Dead and Stone the Crows),
and then the fourth annual University of California Jazz Festival at the Berkeley
Greek Theatre, and the Both/And Club, San Francisco (April 28). After this Davis
returned to New York for another period of intense studio activity -- five more
dates in the period from May 17-June 4.
