The Davis Octet made a tour of South American cities in May 1974, and they were booked for three nights in Rio de Janeiro (May 23-25: Thursday-Saturday) and three in São Paulo (May 28 and 31, June 1: Tuesday, Friday, Saturday). The May 31 concert was canceled on account of Davis' health problems, so the group played an additional concert on June 2 (Sunday). Several recordings from this tour exist (made by Liebman or others in the band). Thanks to Lulu Pereira for help with these sessions, and to John Howker for the scans of the Rio de Janeiro program.
