This is the first of three studio sessions that Davis participated in on this date. Rejoining Parker after more than a year since quitting his group, Davis plays well (but seems a little lost on "Au Privave" and "Star Eyes"), and the addition of Max Roach makes this session seem like even more of a reunion. Parker plays particularly well.
